Mission: Our mission is to enhance language and cultural learning through speaking, listening, reading, and writing; integrating cultural interaction within China and abroad. Our vision is to create bi-cultural citizens that can think and communicate in both the Chinese and English languages.

About Us 关于我们
Our centre is dedicated to working with children, youth, teens, and adults to best meet their language and cultural aspirations. We are fully licensed and can provide legal work visas for those teachers who qualify. Our facility was newly constructed in 2019.

Our Departments Accommodate: 我们的部门适应

- Inbe House Education Centre is located in Jianyang. It hosts online classes during weekdays, and face to face in-class sessions on the weekends. Class sizes are small and very enjoyable to teach. Each class is divided into (2) 40 minute sessions with a 10 minute break inbetween. A sample schedule can be found here. Our Story 我们的故事
Our Story
The idea behind Inbe House started long before Gerry Chambers came to China. He understood people from around the world wanted to learn English, but few westerners had a desire to learn Mandarin (the biggest language group in the world). Chambers, a former international school principal in British, American, and Canadian schools, had the "know how" to start and develop new programs, but did not have the right relationships with local people to journey through governmental red tape to establish a new learning centre.

That would change in 2015, when Gerry met Xin Xiu Ying (Swing). They got to know each other over the next few months, developed a partnership. Travis, Swing's son had a good working relationship with a man (let's call him, Angus) who had a stone-cold empty building complex that needed a family. After many meetings, a partnership was struck. Inbe House finally had a home where an English training school could start and grow.

Swing became the legal administrative caretaker of the school, and Gerry, the Director of Education.

Be Passionate For Kindergarten and Young Learners!
At Inbe House our teaching methodology is according to the age levels, language levels, and the learning and acquisition processes of our students. Moreover, in addition to the mission and vision of Inbe House, our parents’ expectations are also playing a very important and effective role over lesson structures.
Movement is a crucial element in learning. Our lessons are structed with a full range of kinesthetic, visual and audio activities, and materials that are engaging for our students. For example, students can see an orange in the book, can touch-smell-eat a real orange, or play with a toy orange. They can listen music or a video about oranges during the teaching and learning time. Teaching the target language in a very natural way with five senses is essential.

Students learn as much as they are able at this age, so the above topics can be expanded to include other experiences as well.
How Do They Learn These Skills?
YL’s Know Letters and Sounds
- The first of the basics is “letter recognition” and how to say these sounds clearly. (listening and vision). Students must learn how to site read the alphabet in any order, not just through rote understanding.
- Students must understand that consonant letters can stand alone (example “b” as in bat) or blends with other letters to make sound (example “br” as in brown).
- Every English word is built on one or more vowels to make proper sounds. Students know their vowels.
YLs Know the First Steps to Reading
- The teacher will read one story to the children each class. Students need to near clear English and how it is used.
- Students will be introduced to pre-reading sight words, for future recognition. The Dolch early learning site method will be taught.
YLs Know Their Numbers
- In YLs it’s all about learning to identify, write and understand numbers. Children will also be learning how to count and total a group of objects. Children will be able to count to 10+. Addition and subtraction from 1-10 are introduced.
YLs Know How to Identify
- 5+ farm animals; 5+ wild animals; 5+ water creatures; and 5+ types of birds. What are their babies called? Where do they live? What do they eat?
- 5 – 10+ types of fruit; 5 – 10+ types of vegetables and where do they grow?
- 5 – 10+ different colors. Know that people, places, and things can be all different types of colors.
YLs Will Develop Their Motor skills through Action
How well your child can cut a straight line with a pair of scissors, or write their own name, has a lot to do with their fine motor skills. Many of the activities YLs participate in work fine motor skills, tuning them up for more complicated tasks in the future. The many art projects YLs embark on help creativity to flourish while also helping fine motor skills as your child cuts with scissors or glues accessories onto cardboard paper.

Cultural Integration
English cannot be learned properly without knowing its cultural background. Our teachers bring understanding to words and their meanings. The more the child understands the nuances of the language the better he or she will be able to use it correctly.
